Heliatek GmbH, Dresden, Germany, was founded in 2006 as a spin-out from the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Ulm. The company is engaged in the development, production and commercialization of organic solar cells. The technology developed by Heliatek enables cost-effective and efficient roll-to-roll production of large area modules on low-cost and flexible substrates. The company uses well-defined, non-polymeric organic materials with high thermic and photochemical stability.
BASF SE are cooperating with Heliatek GmbH and Robert Bosch GmbH on special research projects to develop these new technologies further.
