BASF

The rationale of our investment process is not the "fast deal" but the long-term success of every investment and everything that entails.

BASF Venture Capital uses a multi-step process when analyzing a potential investment in a start-up company. From the outset this process can also involve any potential partners from within BASF Group.

Overview of our investment process:

  1. After an initial appraisal of the start-up company by an investment manager, a "Technology-Fit" assessment of the company to BASF Group is immediately carried out.
  2. If the "Technology-Fit" is positive, we invite the start-up company to present their business plan.
  3. When the management, business model and financial framework of the start-up show potential, this is followed by pre-due diligence.
  4. The Proof of Concept, and any prototypes, are immediately checked in-depth. Specific possibilities for cooperation will also be discussed.
  5. If we decide in favor of investment, concrete terms are set out in a Term Sheet and handed over to the start-up company.
  6. As a matter of course, exit options are also set out in these terms.

This is a representative process, which we tailor to meet the needs of individual start-up companies.

Would you like to tell us about your start-up company? We look forward to hearing about your exciting ideas and to working with you at BASF Venture Capital.
